AP Drawing and Painting
My concentration revolves around the theme of bad habits and how they often go unnoticed even though they have a large impact on my life, especially during the stay-at-home order.
My first unit piece is a scene of accumulated seltzer water cans on my nightstand. Because this is something that I have easily been able to hide, painting and presenting it to an audience was my way of discouraging myself from this bad habit. This first piece shows how I was thinking about habits and criticism of myself before my concentration evolved.
In my sixth unit piece, I painted a scene that represented an unorganized workspace by showing my cluttered desk. This piece was meant to show that I do a lot of work at my desk and was not meant to criticize the way I get things done. This shows my concentration as becoming an observation of my living space.
